A reset is not a clean

People often ask me what I do, and the shortest honest answer is: not cleaning.

A cleaner takes a house that is fundamentally in order and makes it shine. That is a genuine skill and plenty of homes need exactly that. But it assumes something that isn’t always true — that everything already has a place, and the only thing missing is the polish.

In a busy family house, that assumption breaks. The washing is clean but living in a basket. The children have outgrown half the wardrobe. The kitchen drawer has become a place where things go to be forgotten. No amount of wiping fixes any of it.

A reset is the work underneath. Deciding where things live. Clearing what has drifted. Putting the house back into a state where cleaning it would even make sense.
